Enumclaw's Team finished 5th with 93 Points at the 2016 WIAA State Wrestling Tournament
Senior Kyle Opland brought home the 120-pound title for the Hornets. In the championship round he took a 9-4 decision over Sidat Kanyi from Edmonds-Woodway. He took third last year in the 113-pound division.
Coach Adam Eilers said Opland worked very hard all season and his effort showed up on the championship mat.
The Hornets’ second title came in the 132-pound division. Jake Treece beat Gavin Rork from Arlington with a 9-0 decision. Treece took second last season at 126 losing to Hunter Haney from Enumclaw. Treece is a junior and has a chance next season to become a two-time state champion.
Placing in the top eight for Enumclaw were Quinton Southcott, 138 at third, Kione Gill taking second at 182.
